Generative Artist to Watch
Mr HabMo - Collection: Dusk
This week: Dusk by @MrHabMo
A stunning collection of gen art/AI on @gen_dot_art, it displays an exquisite painterly style, evoking European landscape paintings from the 17th-18th century, while also bearing traces of Impressionist brushstrokes.
From an aesthetic viewpoint, one can notice similarities to French painter Claude Lorrain (17th century) - MrHabMo also creates works in which the light, earth, and water seem to reverberate with emotion, resonating with the surrounding human architecture.
Conceptually, it brings to light the glory of ancient civilizations, the flourishing empires of the past, while also bringing attention to their vanishing as a warning of what will happen to us, should we keep disregarding our current environmental situation.
"Dusk" celebrates the beauty of history, the passage of time, evoking its cyclical nature. Through impressionist-like brushstrokes it captures the light both as a natural agent and as a metaphor for human civilization.
This collection is imbued with philosophical stances - Heraclitus once believed that everything surrounding us is continuously transforming, but this ephemeral matter in constant transformation is the eternal, the eternal rhythm of everything.
Achieving spectacular virtuoso effects of color and atmosphere, "Dusk" conveys the evanescent qualities of light, emphasising dramatic contrasts of luminosity and darkness, ultimately embracing the Heraclitian duo of eternal and ephemeral.
